GEM

Graceful Energetic Movements (GEM) is TPDE's highly anticipated annual production. The concert provides a platform for TPDE dancers to showcase their craft and hard work in putting together a full-length dance concert. GEM showcases the TPDE’s main dance genres; Hip Hop, Modern and B-boy, together with a variation of non-core genres such as Street Jazz, Popping, House, and Locking.

GEM has also given TPDE a platform to further develop student choreographers within the club and bring forth new choreographies through auditions. Throughout the past thirteen years, GEM has received overwhelming responses with outstanding feedback from its audience. TPDE has managed to produce sold out concerts based on thematic storylines with inspirational messages.

This concert also expose dancers to different aspects of a dance production apart from dancing itself, such as ticketing, stage management and props making. Our alumni are also heavily involved in this concert and collaborate with our current members to put up a show.

Dancers work tirelessly for a period of 4 months to deliver an exciting concert where all members of the public are invited to watch. Catch a glimpse of the effort TPDE put into the making of GEM 13: Mala by watching the video.

PLAY

Due to COVID-19, we were unable to produce a concert. In place of GEM, we introduced PLAY, a TP Arts Group collaboration spearheaded by TPDE. We collaborated with 6 Arts Groups in Temasek Polytechnic to create 6 videos with 'Time' as our concept.

We collaborated with TP's Salvo Drums, Music Vox, Chinese Orchestra, Dikir Barat, String Ensemble and Digital Media & Production Crew to produce the experimental series. Watch the full series below on Temasek Arts Centre YouTube Channel.
