What We Do
Instructors
Temasek Polytechnic Dance Ensemble (TPDE) is a big family where dancers from all walks of life come together to share their same passion - Dance.
Our goal is to fundamentally improve in terms of dance and techniques, as well as train the club to become professional dancers that are well-exposed to the dance scene both locally and globally.
The club started out as a Modern dance club. However, as years went by, Hip Hop and Breaking were introduced to our dance ensemble. We are now proud to be training 3 core genres - Modern, Hip Hop and Breaking.
Now, not only do we focus on these three core genres, we have begun exploring and widening our dance knowledge to appreciate other genres of dance such as Popping, Locking, House, Dancehall and Street Jazz. Resident dancers are given opportunities to experience funk styles.
This shows our great enthusiasm towards dance, as we work towards being versatile dancers. In TPDE, we challenge ourselves to constantly learn and improve, with the guidance of our wonderful alumni and dance instructors.
Aside from weekly formal training conducted by our knowledgeable instructors, dancers are given opportunities to represent TPDE in both internal and external events and competitions.
Some of TPDE's notable achievements include:
- Super 24 2023 (Champion for Tertiary Category)
- Super 24 2019 (Champion for Tertiary Category)
- TRDO Duet 2019 (Champion for Inter-poly Category)
- Origins: Interschool 2018 (Champion)
- Mighty Nomads' BBOY POL-ITE 2018 (Champion)
- Super 24 2017 (Champion for Open Category)
